और फिर यूँ हुआ

Since childhood, I used to wonder what makes people fall in love: physical attraction or the emotional connection? I asked different people and got different answers, but none appealed to me. No, I never had my own perception of this riveting emotion, but still explanations and words on Love were nothing but mere fiction for my naïve mind. However, as I grew up and started to understand life and emotions slightly better, I recognized my love: Words. People, places never made it to my heart, but beautiful words describing moments, people, emotions, telling stories, always made my heart skip a beat. Word had such a mesmerizing effect on me. Didn’t matter who said what, to whom or where, the only thing which mattered was how beautiful the lines I heard or read or listened are.  And then I decided to explore my love for words and found my Neverland—a place that was exclusively mine and I could belong to. In this neverland, my dreams resided, thoughts danced, and my SELF lived—fre...

Happy Father's Day

Writing an ode to person who always stood tall, Against all odds: big or small, Held my hand, kept me safe, Told me stories when I slept tightly in his embrace, Remembering his lessons on right and wrong, And mesmerizing voice telling me: “To survive in tough world beta you have to be strong,” love you dad

Wishful Thinking!

Her calm, unwavering eyes were fixed on the sky for hours. Don’t know whether it was her desire or longing for someone, but Megha was lost in her own world — unaware of her surroundings, people, and all the hustle bustle. A sudden jolt of vibration, which brought her back to the real world, diverted her eyes from the sky and mind from thoughts. Her phone's ringtone woke her up and as soon as she took out her phone from the purse, her heart skipped a beat.  “This must be some dream?”  she muttered.  She gasped for breath and mustered the courage to take the call — staring at her phone screen in disbelief — but just then a hand fell on her shoulder. A girl, the person she rushed into this evening while marching in haste to grab her favorite sitting spot, was smiling while looking at her, and even before Megha could utter a word, the girl spoke.   “Sorry yaar, just realized that our phones got exchanged when we collided,” said she while handing over a phone...

Random Ramblings

We run after our dreams, money, luxuries and while doing all this we somehow forget about things which really matter. I wonder why? Not that I am an ascetic or monk; even I do that. Running behind the so called dreams of mine, trying to get my share of victories and fulfilling my so-called dreams and aspirations… But will these victories count at the end? I mean, what is that we will cherish when we grow old? No doubts that money earned, dreams realized will act as the measurable parameters to determine the degree of our success—only to an extent though. But that is not gonna be the beginning and end of everything—not our lives. Isn’t it gonna be the peace of mind, degree of satisfaction in relationships and the career which we pursue that will matter? Won’t it be the love and acceptance of the people who matter which we will crave for? Won’t we ask ourselves how many genuine relationships—with friends, relatives, colleagues, or neighbors—did we make ...

Reality TV: Dearth of creativity or something else?

Ever since the concept of reality TV has started picking up in India, 4-5 years back, it seems as if our nation has got a new national anthem. Everyone, people from all age groups seem to be smitten with the reality show bug. Fame, money, glitz, glamour and not to forget instant result is lucrative enough to grab anyone's attention. No wonder why? Every next person wants to be the next Indian idol, the next MTV Roady, or the next Cinestar. Fame, never used to be just a word, people used to work really hard for it. But now fame has become all so accessible and INSTANT. All thanks to this emergence of Reality TV. But what do you think… about Reality TV? Yeah! I have been thinking about this topic since a long time; have had several arguments sometimes with couple of friends and lot many times with myself trying to figure out what do people working on Reality TV trying to come up with? I have my firm viewpoint about it which title of my post would’ve explained. People claim it is anot...
